School of energy and mechanical engineering

     The School of Energy and Mechanical Engineering was established in August 2016 and consists of the former Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Department of Architecture and Resource Engineering. The college offered undergraduate education in 2009 and graduate education in 2018. The college adheres to the idea of "educating people oriented, moral education first, academic foundation, quality education, strong school with characteristics, culture and school development ", aiming at cultivating applied talents in intelligent manufacturing and material engineering, integrating superior resources, forming three disciplines of intelligent manufacturing and material, resource recycling and new energy development and utilization,locating in teaching and research institute.

College of Energy and Power Engineering now has 4 general undergraduate majors,Energy and Power Engineering,Robotics Engineering, Material Forming and Control Engineering, Automotive Service Engineering,and 6 background direction undergraduate majors,1460 undergraduates,and 21 Full-time master's degree graduate student . To adapt to the economic and social development and the transformation and upgrading of service industry ,college focus on the direction of discipline development ,actively optimizes professional settings, pays attention to the construction of professional connotation, and highlight the characteristics of the school.Planned enrollment in 2020 are 3 general undergraduate majors, Energy and Power Engineering, Robot Engineering, Material Forming and Control Engineering,and 1 background direction undergraduate major, Software engineering (intelligence manufacturing), and plans to recruit 438 undergraduate students ,28 graduate students.

There are 57 faculty members, 2 professors, 14 associate professors, 15 Doctoral and master research tutors, 22 doctors, 2 Ph.D. candidates , one of the top 10 and 100 excellent teachers. In recent three years, has won one award of the second prize of school level teaching achievement,established 11 projects of collaboration between industry and University of the Ministry of Education,4 provincial educational reform projects, more than 10 quality engineering projects at school level, 9 innovative training programs for national college students, More than 40 innovative projects for college students at provincial level; published nearly 20 teaching and research papers, publication of 6 textbooks, 2 excellent online open courses. In recent three years,and approved 6 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 provincial key scientific research projects, 16 scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, research funds more than 5180 million yuan; published SCI included more than 30 papers, authorized 9 invention patents, publication of 5 monographs; Won 1 prize of the Jiangxi Province Natural Science Award and a science and technology project was identified as the international leading level.

College will move into the comprehensive experimental building in 2020, with a total area of 8628 square meters. In 2019,6 million yuan was invested in the automatic control principle laboratory, motor drive and power electronics laboratory, electrical control and PLC laboratory, sensor laboratory, thermal engineering basic laboratory, fluid dynamics laboratory, material forming and processing laboratory, material and dynamic properties test laboratory and Metallographical laboratory. In 2020, more than 3 million yuan was invested in the new-built robot engineering professional laboratory. The college has a campus metalworking training center training base and a robot innovation base.

The college pays attention to the cultivation of students' practical innovation ability and actively carries out scientific and technological activities for college students, winning hundreds of awards in all kinds of science and technology competitions for college students. Organizing students to participate in 11 subject competitions, such as the ‘Siemens Cup’ China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge, the National College Student Intelligent Car Competition, the Chinese College Student Robot Competition, Robomaster Machine Master Competition, the Internet+ Competition, the Energy Saving and Emission reduction Competition.In the ‘Soft Silver Robot Cup’2019 China Robot skills Competition,sponsored by the Chinese artificial Intelligence Society, won the 3 first prize,3 second prize,9 third prize. In the last three years, college robot innovation base trained more than 500 college students,more than 40 lectures on innovation &entrepreneurship and robotics, received enterprises and primary and secondary school students to visit and study more than 600 people having a certain social reputation and influence. In 2019,it was approved Jiangxi Province public science education base.
